One of the most advantageous design elements in AlphaCool parts is in having the ability to use any size fitting you wish. All AlphaCool parts work with 1/2", 3/8" or 1/4" OD Fittings and every cooling block has been optimized for higher flow ratios and decreased resistance. Motherboard Compatibility: The Alphacool NexXxoS NBX-N Northbridge Chipset Water Block is designed to be fully compatible with most AMD nForce4 Motherboards. Before installing this or any other Chipset Liquid Cooling Block, please read "The Keys To Success in Chipset Liquid Cooling" below for some important installation advice. Design & Engineering Features: The Alphacool NexXxoS NBX-N Northbridge Chipset Water Block is a plexi-glass and copper cooler with parallel vertical channels in the PCF(c) construction which are milled at a 90° angles for the most efficient heat transfer. Additionally the copper surface has been glass beaded in order to increase the cooling surface area. This cooler provides for some major overclocking potential with low noise. The flow resistance has been reduced up to 30% making this cooler a perfect compliment for high-flow systems by utilizing hose cross-sections in the channel architecture. High-temperature o-ring seals were introduced, which can survive maximum temperatures of up to 200° Celsius; a further safety factor in the event of fault. The Alphacool NexXxoS NBX-N Northbridge Chipset Water Block can be easily mounted via the installation drill holes which are standard on most AMD nForce Motherboards. All necessary mounting hardware has been included with the block. The mounting hardware is made from durable stainless steel and utilizes convenient spring mounts. Please note that it will be necessary to remove your Motherboard in order to install this block. Please Don't Forget! All Alphacool water blocks are shipped with a protective foil over the bottom of the heat sink. This foil must be removed before mounting the block! The Keys To Success in Chipset Liquid Cooling Liquid Cooling your Motherboard's Chipset can be highly advantageous and fun, but at the same time is more difficult to implement due to the design variations present on modern-day Motherboards. Chipsets can be Liquid Cooled just like any other component, and run inline for example with your CPU Liquid Cooling Block. The key to success in Liquid Cooling your Chipset is to ALWAYS measure first! While a particular Chipset Block design may be designed for a specific type of Motherboard, it still may not fit well because of the number of variations in Motherboard design from manufacturer to manufacturer. Measuring ahead of time will save you both money and lost work time. There are several important factors to take into account when planning a Chipset Block installation. First decide if you want to cool the Northbridge or Southbridge Chips. Some Chipset Blocks are designed specifically for the Northbridge, and others for the Southbridge, and others Blocks can fit both spots. Make sure that you know the exact dimensions of the Chipset Block so that you can check that it will fit between all of the Motherboard components. Watch out for things like capacitors, and especially make sure that your Video Card won't interfere with the space needed for your Chipset Block. The next important factor to take into account is the type of mounting on the Chipset Block. Some blocks use an "eye-hole" style mount and other blocks can be secured with the use of screws, nuts and springs. There will be mounting holes pre-drilled into your Motherboard to install the Chipset Block with. Make sure ahead of time that your Motherboard has the right number of mounting holes to support the block. Lastly, and most importantly, it is vital that you measure the distance between the mounting holes on your Motherboard. Measure from the center of one hole, to the center of the next hole, and record these distances. You must then make sure that the Chipset Block has the exact same distances between its mounting holes. This may sound complex.. but really it isn't.. it is just common sense.
