For the Looks: We have here a UV Reactive Fitting / Coupler that will illuminate a brilliant blue glow in the presence of UV light. When under normal lighting conditions, this Fitting / Coupler has a semi-transparent clear color. The UV Reactivity really adds that level of detail that brings your liquid cooling system to the next level. Liquid Seal Integrity: Every Liquid Cooling enthusiast knows the danger of a leaky system, and even with the advent of Non-Conductive Coolants, no one wants to find a leak in their system! When it comes to liquid seal integrity, ArcticMOD UV Reactive Fittings & Couplers are second to none! Our Fittings / Couplers are sized just right to expand the tubing outward as they are pushed into place. By expanding the tubing slightly outwards this creates an extremely tight seal that liquids cannot penetrate, even when under high pressures. While it is always a safer practice to use a clamp on your liquid cooling connections, these fittings and couplers do not need to be clamped 99% of the time... they are that tight! BSPT (British Standard Pipe Tapered) Threads: Relevant Only For Threaded Fittings All ArcticMOD UV Reactive Fittings come with a standard BSPT (British Standard Pipe Tapered) Thread connection. The BSPT thread standard fits the majority of our Liquid Cooling parts... as many of them are manufactured in Europe. In particular all AlphaCool Liquid Cooling parts require a BSPT or BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel) Thread connection. The BSPT connection is designed to tighten as your screw in the fitting, creating an extremely tight seal via the tapered threads. Never over-tighten these fittings as that would strip the thread and compromise the seal integrity. We do recommend the use of a Thread Sealing Tape for our fittings to ensure a perfect seal. Made from 100% Polypropylene: ArcticMOD UV Reactive Fittings and Couplers are made from 100% Polypropylene, a lightweight, durable material that is resistant to both chemicals and high temperatures. Polypropylene has the unique property of creating a vacuum seal when in contact with PVC tubing, and for this reason is the perfect choice to maintain a leak-proof environment in computer liquid cooling applications..
