When ArcticMOD decided to create its own line of UV Reactive Cable Sleeving we knew that it simply had to be the best. While simple in concept, UV Reactive Cable Sleeving is in fact a complex product.. and not all cable sleeving is created equally. In order to bring a truly spectacular UV Reactive Cable Sleeving to the modding community we had to consider several factors..
1.) UV Reactivity:
Every modder wants their UV Reactive Cable Sleeving to be as bright as possible. UV Reactivness is the number one quality that sets good and bad UV Cable Sleeving apart. We have formulated ArcticMOD UV Reactive Cable Sleeving with the highest amount of UV Reactive ingredient possible. Our Cable Sleeving is mind-numbingly bright! It is in fact so bright that it will even light up from a distance. One of the greatest aspects to ArcticMOD UV Reactive Cable Sleeving is that every color equally bright! With other manufacturers the green and yellow will be the brightest, and the blue, orange and other colors may suffer... this is not the case with our sleeving. If you are looking for brightness, you have come to the right place!
2.) Color Selection:
We are very proud of the fact that ArcticMOD has the widest selection of UV Reactive Cable Sleeving colors on the internet. We have all seen UV Reactive colors like blue, green, yellow and even orange.. but howabout colors like purple and red? These are highly sort after colors and yet they have been nearly impossible for modders to obtain. Well no longer! We are proud to offer a UV Reactive color selection of six amazing colors, including the brilliant new red and purple. In the future we will bring even more UV Reactive colors to the market, including pink, turquoise and white.
3.) Flexibility:
Perhaps one of those qualities you don't think about until it causes a problem. Flexibility of cable sleeving is very important, particularly when you need the sleeving to bend around tight corners. ArcticMOD Cable Sleeving is highly flexible, and is in fact more flexible then any other sleeving in the market today. This amazing flexibility is largely due to the diameter of the Polyester threads used in our sleeving. ArcticMOD Cable Sleeving uses a 0.20mm diameter monofil thread. Most other cable sleevings in the market today use a 0.25mm or higher diameter.. thus making the sleeving stiff and difficult to bend. This is yet another reason our cable sleeving comes out on top.
4.) Strength & Durability:
ArcticMOD UV Reactive Cable Sleeving is more then simply strong.. it is also extremely durable. The main reason for this is because we have manufactured our sleeving with Polyester (PET) instead of Nylon. Most other cable sleevings sold in the market today are made from Nylon. While Nylon is a good material, it does not have the strength and durability of Polyester, better known as "PET". Using PET was a wise choice for us to provide a cable sleeving that will last a really long time and will be resistant to tearing and fraying.
5.) Expandability:
After all, this is "expandable" Cable Sleeving right! ArcticMOD offers its Cable Sleeving in 4 convenient sizes (1/2", 3/8", 1/4" & 1/8"). One of the factors that sets our sleeving apart from others is its expandability ratio. ArcticMOD UV Reactive Cable Sleeving is capable of expanding to an outstanding 3 times its normal size! This is a crucial factor when you need to wrap around many wires, or slide the sleeving past a small connector. Our sleeving expands like no other and thus gives you the most for your value.
Sealing Off Your Cuts:
While not always necessary, it is possible to seal off your sleeving cuts so that they will not fray and come apart on you. If you wish to seal off the ends of your sleeving this can be done by simply metling the monofil threads together. The fastest and easiest way to acomplish this is by using a lighter. Please be careful though!.. while our cable sleeving is not flammable, you do not want to hold the sleeving under the lighter for too long.. as this will cause excess fumes and will only melt away precious sleeving. Hold the sleeving thread ends under the lighter for only a split second and this will do the job just fine. Repeat this process around the diameter of the sleeving cut until the end is completely sealed off.
