This is a money-saving economical option for the Laing DDC-1 Pump, as it is less expensive to buy this in the bundle set then buying the plexiglas top and pump separately. Please keep in mind that the pump and the plexiglas top do come in separate packages and you will have to replace the default pump top during installation. This is a great product and a highly recommended choice for getting both good looks and power in a single package. Introducing the new and improved Laing DDC-1 Plus Pump. This latest revision of the Laing DDC-1 offers greater power and performance following in the footsteps of Laing's legendary pump line. Groundbreaking Design: The Laing DDC-1 Plus Pump was the first pump sold worldwide which could be installed in mass-produced liquid cooled workstations, and it is ideally suitable for the liquid cooling of processors and electronic components. Due to its compact size and powerful output, a multitude of cooling applications are available from this impressive pump. Innovative Engineering: The DDC-1 Plus is an electronically controlled Ball-Motor pump, with 2x 3/8" Input / Output connections and a running time of more than 50,000 hours at 12 Volts DC! (Upgradeable to 1/2" or 1/4" ID connections using AlphaCool's Laing Pump Attachments). The only flexible part of a Ball-Motor pump is a sphere shaped rotor/runner unit, which is propped up against an extremely hard, wear-resistant ceramic bearing ball. By using a rotor/runner unit on a ceramic bearing ball instead of a conventional axle with a journal bearing and shaft seal, there a lot of advantages. Advantages Over Conventional Designs: Perhaps one of the most important advantages for a liquid cooling application is that a ceramic bearing ball provides a perfectly silent running pump.. and it will stay quiet throughout the pump's life. The bearing itself is self-adjusting and is lubricated directly by the delivery medium (wet-running pump). This type of design makes the DDC-1 Plus virtually maintenance free! Since the rotor is always held magnetically in the intended position, smaller dirt particles are no problem at all. Under normal operating conditions this pump will never get blocked or clogged, even after lengthy downtimes you can be sure of reliability. The permanent magnetic rotor/runner unit is propelled by a magnetic field, which is produced by the surrounding stator built entirely around the rotor. Another impressive design advantage of the DDC-1 Pump is that entire pump is 38mm wide, only a little higher than the stator itself. It easily fits into all conventional PC's and barebone and Mini PC cases. You will not need to magnetically shield this pump either.. as this has already been taken care of under normal operating conditions. The Ball Motor principle enables an economical enterprise with comparatively high achievements. Tension / Resistance variations can easily be regulated by the DDC-1 Pump over a large capacity range.
