We believe that trust is something that should be earned rather then bestowed, and it is with that philosophy that we have created a strict set of privacy policies to ensure our customer’s security and protection when shopping with us. We here at ArcticMOD appreciate the trust and loyalty that our customers show in us, and we would like to take a few moments to tell you about the many privacy policies we have in place to protect our customers.
Secure Socket Layer (SSL):
Whenever you conduct an exchange of sensitive or private information over the internet, it is of the utmost importance that the transmission of that data be completely secured and encrypted. In today’s world of identity theft and credit card fraud it is all too easy to fall short of the steps necessary to protect ones self. You can be confident when you shop at ArcticMOD.com that your private information is both safe and secure because we implement SSL (Secure Socket Layer) Technology on all privacy-sensitive data transmissions to and from our store.
From the moment you log in to or create your ArcticMOD Account, through all of the many Checkout Process steps, every screen that transmits your private information to and from our servers is first encrypted by SSL at the 128-Bit Encryption Level. Our SSL Certificate from COMODO offers industry standard protection from hackers and other eavesdroppers who may otherwise try to steal your private information during its transmission.
The Secure Socket Layer provides a nearly impossible security barrier to break and ensures that the personal data being transmitted is only submitted to our servers. When you are logged into our store please take notice of the small key icon that will appear either at the top or bottom of your browser window. When present, this key icon notifies you that your connection to ArcticMOD.com is encrypted through our SSL Certificate and that your data is fully secured. Shop confidently, securely and safely under the protection of SSL.
Credit Card Security:
The first step in credit/debit card security practices on the internet is to ensure that your connection is secured through a SSL (Secure Socket Layer) as described above. All credit/debit card transactions on ArcticMOD.com are transmitted over a fully secured and encrypted SSL connection.
We are proud to say that we take your credit/debit card security to the next level by implementing several key security procedures and policies. All credit/debit card transactions on ArcticMOD.com require two separate security validations to be approved first in order for the transaction to be processed by our Payment Gateway Provider.
The first of these validations is a basic Address Verification check that will attempt to match your Billing Street Address and Zip Code to the Address that you have entered on record with your credit/debit card company. Occasionally we may request that you provide us with the Toll-Free number seen on the back of your credit/debit card, along with your full name, billing address and social security number in order to validate your card. While these instances are not common, in cases of authentication failures it may be necessary for us to utilize this information in order to process your transaction securely.
The second of these validations utilizes the unique verification code on your credit/debit card known as the CVV (Card Verification Value) Code. The CVV code helps us to ascertain that the customer placing the order actually possesses the credit/debit card and that the card account is legitimate. These codes, also known as “CVV2”, “CVC2” and “CID” depending on which credit/debit card company you use offer an added level of protection against credit card theft and fraud.
Once your transaction has passed these security validations successfully, we then verify the authentication methods by hand in a special security section which is printed out on every ArcticMOD.com invoice that we pack along with your order. We do this purposefully to show our customers that we are on top of security for every single order which we receive.
Lastly, to ensure that no one can ever steal your credit/debit card information from us, we have made it our policy not to store any customer credit/debit card information in either our databases or web servers. Once your credit/debit card information has been transmitted securely to our Payment Gateway Provider, all card information is then permanently deleted.
A Secure Store:
ArcticMOD.com is in fact an extremely complex and intricate shopping cart system with a lot of custom programming and code behind it. While it is impossible to guarantee 100% total security 100% of the time for our customers and even for ourselves, we are wise to the many methods out there by which the security of an online store can be compromised. We may not be able to guarantee 100% security, but we definitely try to be 100% secure.
We have taken a great many steps to secure our store from both commonly known and advanced vulnerabilities and threats that may otherwise be present in an online shopping cart system. We have indeed worked with online security specialists to increase our store’s security measures and we are constantly on the lookout for ways to make our store even more secure. These steps are not simply prudent, but are in fact the rule to maintain a safe environment for our customers and for our company.
We take our store’s security very very seriously, and in our efforts to lock down ArcticMOD we are also protecting our customers, as the two concepts go hand in hand. We have many systems currently in place to help us identify security threats ranging from hackers to those who would try and defraud us. Let it be known that that anyone who attempts such illegal action against either us or our customer’s will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
In-House Security:
While most security threats do come from the outside, there is indeed always the remote chance of a security breach from the inside. At ArcticMOD.com we have taken many steps to eliminate any security threats that could arise from in-house operations.
All employees of ArcticMOD.com are fully versed in our security procedures and privacy policies, and we ensure that all new policies are brought to our employee’s attention. We regularly hold employee meetings to discuss topics such as security practices, and we are constantly reminding our staff of the high importance that we place on our customer’s rights to privacy and security.
When we are dealing with a customer’s private information, we only allow the employees that must see that information to have access to it. In short, our employees are on a need-to-know basis. This is a basic security precaution, but it is indeed an effective one.
When it comes to in-house passwords and logins, we have taken aggressive steps to ensure that no one employee can compromise the security of our system. Additionally, every employee workstation is locked down with a personal login and password to prevent unauthorized access when they are away from their desks.
Lastly, ArcticMOD.com operates in a fully commercial and secure warehouse facility. We have several security systems in place to prevent break-ins and the building is locked down at all times to prevent unauthorized access.
